The Not So Special IPHONE 6 (2014)

A few hours ago APPLE unveiled their new series of Smartphones, which include larger screens and the integration of a new mobile payments system that will let you make store purchases by waving or tapping your iPhone at a checkout terminal.

The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus were announced by Apple CEO Tim Cook at the Flint Center in Cupertino, Calif., where it also debuted its first wearable, the Apple

The iPhone 6 will feature a 4.7-inch, 1,334 by 750-pixel Retina Display, while the iPhone 6 Plus has a 5.5-inch, 1,920 by 1,080-pixel Retina Display. The phones, with curved edges, are thinner than the previous generation, measuring 6.8 mm thick and 7.1mm thick, respectively. In order to make the phones easier to use one-handed, they include a feature called “reachability” where you can double-press the home button and minimize the display in order to reach all of the onscreen.

My personal opinion that the new iphone isnt a jaw dropper  is because to me apple have fallen short of the competition. the only things theyve added are the screen size and upgraded processor, of which to me is a small , slightly noticeable difference, why  they introduce a water proof phone. Initially Tim cook had mentioned that they were not interested in building  larger screened devices but clearly they have succumb to the pressure of their other competitors. Companies like Samsung, Windows, LG and Even Tecno having been tapping the market with large screened devices way before apple thus my conclusion that Apple are trying to be at par with current competition in other words theyre “chasing shadows”.

Companies like HTC too have stamped their way as brilliant phone builders in such a short time with their flagship devices HTC One(M7) and HTC one (M8) which we all must agree have quite similar quality builds and design like any high end iphone in the market.

I must add that this new iphone is really sleek and beautiful but the big question is, “How will they convince the rest of the world that theyre still a Top phone maker?  I believe Samsung in conjuction with Android  are setting the pace for the rest of the phone Market and Apple are still in a miasmic fantasy that theyre still the best but  they better wake up and smell the coffee.

Without out a doubt Apple courtesy of Steve jobs were the Benchmarkers of premium smart devices, but now the competition is so stiff even after suing Samsung it didnt give them an advantage whatsoever. We basically want to see the progress of this device in the next  few months  just to see if Apple still got game in this cut throat smart phone market. The device is brilliant, the price is quite reasonable but personally i still need to be convinced why i should own an iphone instead of an HTC(m8)

At the end of the day it all falls to taste and preference of the consumer, and that is based on how you use the device. A good smart phone should cater for any type of users need, be it business, entertainment, leisure and i believe the iphone 6 is a suitable device for this.
