The Not So Special IPHONE 6 (2014)

NOTE: *The 10 reasons will eventually be presented after proper extensive research…*

A few hours ago APPLE unveiled their new series of Smartphones, which include larger screens and the integration of a new mobile payments system that will let you make store purchases by waving or tapping your iPhone at a checkout terminal.

The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus were announced by Apple CEO Tim Cook at the Flint Center in Cupertino, Calif., where it also debuted its first wearable, the Apple

The iPhone 6 will feature a 4.7-inch, 1,334 by 750-pixel Retina Display, while the iPhone 6 Plus has a 5.5-inch, 1,920 by 1,080-pixel Retina Display. The phones, with curved edges, are thinner than the previous generation, measuring 6.8 mm thick and 7.1mm thick, respectively. In order to make the phones easier to use one-handed, they include a feature called “reachability” where you can double-press the home button and minimize the display in order to reach all of the onscreen.

My personal opinion that the new iphone isnt a jaw dropper  is because to me apple have fallen short of the competition. the only things theyve added are the screen size and upgraded processor, of which to me is a small , slightly noticeable difference, why  they introduce a water proof phone. Initially Tim cook had mentioned that they were not interested in building  larger screened devices but clearly they have succumb to the pressure of their other competitors. Companies like Samsung, Windows, LG and Even Tecno having been tapping the market with large screened devices way before apple thus my conclusion that Apple are trying to be at par with current competition in other words theyre “chasing shadows”.

Companies like HTC too have stamped their way as brilliant phone builders in such a short time with their flagship devices HTC One(M7) and HTC one (M8) which we all must agree have quite similar quality builds and design like any high end iphone in the market.

I must add that this new iphone is really sleek and beautiful but the big question is, “How will they convince the rest of the world that theyre still a Top phone maker?  I believe Samsung in conjuction with Android  are setting the pace for the rest of the phone Market and Apple are still in a miasmic fantasy that theyre still the best but  they better wake up and smell the coffee.

Without out a doubt Apple courtesy of Steve jobs were the Benchmarkers of premium smart devices, but now the competition is so stiff even after suing Samsung it didnt give them an advantage whatsoever. We basically want to see the progress of this device in the next  few months  just to see if Apple still got game in this cut throat smart phone market. The device is brilliant, the price is quite reasonable but personally i still need to be convinced why i should own an iphone instead of an HTC(m8)

At the end of the day it all falls to taste and preference of the consumer, and that is based on how you use the device. A good smart phone should cater for any type of users need, be it business, entertainment, leisure and i believe the iphone 6 is a suitable device for this.

A more extensive review and comparisons to other phones coming very soon.

Am still TeamHTC(lol) have a good one.

Instagram(facebook).. launches video-sharing Mode to rival Twitter’s Vine app

Well am sure you’re all aware facebook bought instagram for around 1 BILLION Dollars sometime back and it looks like the greedy social media giant is hungry for more. This time they’re going at it their sole rivals Twitter(VINE) in a video app warfare.

If you haven’t had about vine, dont worry i’ll let you know

Vine is a mobile app that enables its users to create and post video clips. Video clips created with Vine have a maximum length of 6 seconds and can be shared or embedded on social networking services such as Twitter—which acquired the app in October 2012—and Facebook. Though Vine was initially available only for iOS devices, Twitter is working on bringing the app to other platforms. Vine for Android was released on June 3, 2013 for devices with Android version 4.0 or higher. *COURTESY WIKIPEDIA*

Instagram launched a video-sharing tool on Thursday, in a move that will place the Facebook-owned company in direct competition with Vine, the Twitter-backed video app.

Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom made the announcement at Facebook’s Menlo Park headquarters in California, promising that Instagram video would incorporate “everything we know and love about Instagram, but it moves

Users can record video in instalments – just a few seconds or tenths of seconds at a time – in a format that looks similar to that of Vine, the six-second looping video tool which was launched by Twitter in January.

Vine was initially only available for iPhone, before an Android version launched this month. Instagram video appears to have bested it by launching immediately on both platforms.

Instagram videos do not “loop” in the same way as Vines, but the Instagram format offers users up to 15 seconds of recording time instead of the sometimes-limiting six seconds on Vine.

Instagram’s popularity was in part based on the special filters users could impose over their pictures, and Instagram video has similar capabilities – with 13 specially created filters available to process video.

“We’re excited to see what the community will bring to video, whether it’s your local cafe showing you just how they made your latte art this morning, or an Instagrammer on the other side of the world taking you on a tour of their city, a mother sharing her joys in parenting as her children laugh and play, or your favorite athlete taking you behind the scenes,” Systrom wrote in his blogpost, linking to examples of Instagram video in action. One of the benefits Instagram video will have over Vine is that it already has a dedicated audience. Instagram has 130m active users, Systrom said at the unveiling, with 1bn likes a day. Vine, which Twitter bought for $30m, launched as a new app in January, with users having to build followers from scratch.

Am looking forward to seeing how far Facebook/instagram are willing to take this video app rivalry..will the have their  own version of VINE ROULETTE and call it INSTAGRAM ROULETTE?? We’ll have to wait and see
